Powers of Attorney
A Power of Attorney is essential when you require a representative to act on your behalf for overseas transactions. This is common when purchasing property abroad, or when representation is needed before foreign authorities, courts or banks. Our role is to verify your identity and confirm your capacity – ensuring you are acting of your own free will and without undue influence. We then witness the execution of the document before affixing the notarial seal and signature to ensure its international validity.
Affidavits, declarations
You may be required to take an oath or provide a formal statement for use abroad, particularly for foreign court proceedings, witness testimonies, or travel consents for unaccompanied minors. We can assist by drafting these statements or working with your existing templates. Our role is to verify your identity, confirm your mental capacity, and ensure you fully understand the contents of the declaration. Once we have confirmed your voluntary intent, we witness your signature and formally notarise the document.
Copies of documents
You may require a certified copy of your passport, identity card, driving licence, utility bills, or bank statements. We also frequently certify degree certificates, transcripts, payslips, employment contracts and letters, and HMRC records. Foreign recipients require these to ensure that the documents they receive and rely upon when making a decision are authentic and true copies of the originals. Upon presentation of these documents, we will verify their authenticity and provide the necessary certification to meet international requirements.
Apostille Service
To ensure your notarised documents are accepted abroad, they often require legalisation. This is the official process of verifying the authenticity of the notarial seal and signature through the UK Legalisation Office. Depending on the destination country, you may require an Apostille or additional Consular legalisation. We can manage this entire process for you, offering both standard and fast-track legalisation options to ensure your deadlines are met.
Administration of Oaths
Notaries are authorised to exercise the powers of Commissioners for Oaths for declarations used within England and Wales. When acting in this capacity, the statutory fees are currently £5 per declarant for taking an oath or declaration, and £2 per exhibit. Please note that these statutory fees apply strictly to the act of taking the oath for domestic matters. Additional fees may apply for associated services. Furthermore, any declarations intended for use overseas – including Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Channel Islands – are handled in the capacity of a Notary Public and are charged at our standard notarial rates.
Company documents
Corporate entities require notarial services to facilitate international trade and cross-border transactions. Whether proving your status with Companies House, verifying your Articles of Association, or providing a Certificate of Good Standing, we ensure your corporate identity is recognised by foreign banks and authorities. We also assist businesses in the execution of Corporate Powers of Attorney and the drafting of Board Minutes or Written Resolutions. This provides robust evidence of a director’s authority to bind the company in overseas dealings, ensuring your international operations remain seamless.

As a regulated Notary Public, I am committed to transparency and professional integrity. In accordance with my regulatory obligations, I provide comprehensive information regarding my Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Complaints Procedure. You will also find details here concerning my Professional Indemnity Insurance, as well as a clear breakdown of my fees and disbursements. All of this information is readily accessible via the dedicated pages on this website to ensure you are fully informed before we begin our collaboration.
Our collaboration takes three simple steps, briefly described below.
The first step is to get in touch and provide a draft of your documents, along with any specific instructions received from your foreign lawyer or the receiving authority. We will conduct a preliminary review of your requirements to confirm how we should proceed and provide a clear, transparent quote for the services required.
Following our initial consultation, you will be provided with our Terms of Business. To comply with legal regulations, we will ask you to provide proof of identity and address, along with any other necessary documentation. Once these preliminaries are complete, we will confirm a convenient appointment at our office.
The final step is our scheduled appointment to formally notarise your documents. During this meeting, we will ensure that all paperwork is correctly executed, witnessed, and sealed in accordance with legal requirements. Should your documents require further legalisation, we can then arrange for an Apostille, providing you with a complete end-to-end service.
